Hi all My name is katrina, im 29 years old and I follow slimming world. Ive been doing slimming world on and off since I was 14 years old. This is my latest journey and currently im back up to almost 2 and half stone lost. I wanted to share with you all my food diaries so if you are struggling or just want some new ideas you could maybe get some inspiration from them and use them however you choose, if you choose to at all :) I have put my syn values in but please dont take them as gospel as you may have different measurements to me also I can get away with not syning some things but that is what works for me so just use them as a guide. Apologies

I just want to apologise in advance. There will be no food diary up this week due to me completely losing the plot.  Ive had a week of mostly takeaways and when not eating takeaways there has been copius amounts of snacks.

So, i'm not expecting anything but a gain and if its only 1/2 stone i'll be happy.  On the plus side ive been shopping and got a few bits in and have planned out a full weeks menu with all meals included, so I feel a little more in control now.

There will definately be a new diary up next week and I will update my progress as usual x

opinion of the week

This week - 1/2lb gain
Total so far - 2 stone 3.5lb

Well even though I have gained this week im glad it wasnt more, I had a bit of an alcoholic weekend and with that came munchies so im happy overall.  This week im going to aim to eat more superfree and just take each day as it comes.  Im going through some stuff at the moment including a urine infection so that making me feel a bit bluegh but i'm slowly getting sorted :)

Really chuffed with this weeks loss, thats 3 weeks in row, i'm on a roll :)  And i've even eaten pizza & chips.  Now tell me what other diet you can do that on lol.  The new mag is in hand and i have a stocked cupboard so there is no stopping me :)

Last nights dinner - sweet chili prawns on tagliatelle

Sweet chilli prawns on tagliatelle

Ingredients

Peeled & cooked prawns
1 red onion chopped
Coloured peppers of your choice diced
Sliced mushrooms
Peas
Cherry tomatoes halved
The greens of spring onions
Garlic
Parsley
Tarragon
1 tsp Peri peri powder

For the sauce
1-2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce (2.5 syns per tbsp)
Juice & rind of ½ a lime
Water
2 tbsp L.F natural yogurt

Method
Heat frylight in a wok/frying pan and fry off all the veg except the tomatoes. To make the sauce add about ¼ pt water (just so it doesn’t quite cover all the ingredients) then add chilli sauce and lime, garlic, parsley, tarragon, peri peri powder and natural yogurt and simmer for about 15 minutes.  Meanwhile cook some tagliatelle to instructions.  Then with 5 minutes to go add the prawns and tomatoes to the veg mix ensuring prawns are properly.  Serve on the bed of tagliatelle

This weeks progress 4th october 2011

Weigh in this week - 2lb lost
Total loss - 2 stone 1.5lb

Really chuffed with this weeks loss. Ive been on the plan 100% and enjoyed every single meal.  Its a nice feeling to be focused again. Tonights dinner was supposed to be cottage pie but with time restrictions ive not been able to cook so the other half suggested pizza.  Now........they they were nightmare words to my ears, I really want to stay on track so when I phoned to order, I ordered his and then for the first time in my life I asked them what was the smallest pizza they did.  They came back with the childs pizza which was 6". So I have decided to have pizza, but instead of doing the usual 12" im going to have a 6" and have it with syn free chips and salad and count the pizza as my syns.  A proud moment and a significant turning point for me, I really feel that I can do it this time and not deny myself.  Power of positive thinking :)

Time to stop messing about

I decided tonight that I was going to put some pictures of food staples in my fridge that keep me going with my journey.  Then I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of my book with my stickers on.  I then quickly came to realise that for almost a little over three years I have taken an extremely long scenic route throughout my journey. I started Slimming World on the 23rd June 2008 witha starting weight of 19 stone 11.5lb having previously lost 1/2 stone before joining and with a couple of ups and downs by week 16 I had lost my first stone followed by my second stone on week 28 (30lb to be exact).  Shockingly it then took me 12 months to reach my 3rd stone but I got there and I was so chuffed to see that certificate. Now dont get me wrong, I know that if I had followed the plan properly then I would have got there alot quicker but alot went on in that 12 months including losing one of my best friends to pneumonia.  I'm one of these people that can be amazing for a month or two then I basically become lazy and slip back into old habits when the going gets tough im also a massive comfort eater and no matter how much I tell myself how much I want to lose weight, I ain't getting out of that rut any quicker so then comes the damage with eating rubbish BUT I never stopped going to get weighed.  I knew if I did then there would be no turning back and I would put on all of what I had achieved plus more. 

So I had finally reached my 3 stone and was a couple of pounds off my 3.5 stone award. In xmas '09 it was my dads 50th birthday and it was a night that literally changed my life.  The barman that was working that night he is now my boyfriend - to cut a long story short we ended up leaving together and I never went home again.  In february '10 I officially moved in with him and with that came contentment, my weight slowly crept back up over the months and by march this year I had put back on close to 2 stone.  So anyway to bring you up to date I have currently lost 1 stone 13.5lb and im in a positive frame of mind.  Believe me its not been easy but then weight issues are never easy are they lol :) I lost my sister to breast cancer back in July and it was extremely difficult, I still get bad days but slimming is something positive to focus on.  It was one of the reasons why I started this blog because it made me feel good knowing my diaries may be helping other people.

So now im determined to get back to get back to where I was in xmas '09 and actually picking up that 3.5 stone award.  My boyfriend is extremely supportive and he actually cooks SW way now and he has lost a little weight. So all is good so far :)
